Amidst the destruction of Israel’s war… a moment of peaceful prayer…

Where a mosque once stood tall, worshippers kneel before god surrounded by rubble…

This is what is left of the Nour al Mohammed mosque on the outskirts of Gaza City,
A house of God for Muslims…became a target for the Israeli military…

This Friday, two weeks into the Israeli assault, the faithful were undeterred …this weeks prayer had an added meaning.

As worshippers flocked, the Mosque’s imam delivered his message to followers and to those following developments in Gaza….

and to those praying here, I say, this is our mosque and will pray here till judgment day and we will rebuild this mosque even bigger…

Abu Mohammed usually doesn’t pray here, but when he fled his neighborhood a week ago and joined his daughter’s family nearby, he was moved by a sense of purpose to pray at the Mohammed mosque…
