When the first Israeli strikes hit 6-yr old Aseel was terrified. For five days he’s stayed at home, and like his brothers, won’t leave his mother’s side…I asked him why

SOT Reema- Aseel's mother “..He thinks I’m dead if I am not next to him” (aseel nods)

SOT Sherine: when it happened where were you and where were your kids?

SOT REEMA: My kids were at school its beside a police centre and I was close next to another police centre and they hit the two at the same time. (Sherine:What went through your mind?) What happened to my kids.. I started to think of my kids

The family have removed all the glass panes from the so they don’t shatter and injure them when the next strike hits…last time, it was close. (pix of damage through window)

Aseel showed me the drawings he’s made in the last few days…he drew a rocket ....SOT mother “and he wrote peace- salam”

(pix: tracking shots) Gaza is silent. Shops, offices and schools are closed. People are too afraid to go out.. the signs of Israel’s war on almost every corner.
